I have seen that youtube has a shop which can help the youtuber to sell goods online. Then I think, why do the youtuber need to create a shop with that button? Why don't they sell their goods on their own channel?
Yes, it is like streaming, but I think this can give you a chance to get money into your own pocket.
1. If your channel is able to use LIVE, you can LIVE to sell your products.
With this way, I think it is useful and you might be able to earn from a few ways:
a. get money from selling your own product from the customer
b. get monetized from youtube (please check the policy of youtube)
c. get paid from company that wants you to promote or sell their product
2. If your channel is not able to LIVE, you can create a video telling about your goods, price and useful information that can attract the viewers to view and to buy.
However, this method requires you to stay online to respond to the comments of the audience, and you have to prepare and manage how to get paid and how to deliver the product to your customers.
Make sure you have good management or you might even lose your viewers.
If it is possible, you can get three advantages like I mentioned above.
